Utility Hook Ups When you are in a camp ground that has either partial hookups usually only water and electric or has full hookups water, electric, and sewer , usually hooking up your utility connections is the next step after levelling your RV. Water Connection Now you are ready for the water connection. First attach the regulator to the water inlet of your RV. Usually hand tightening is enough to stop any leaks.
If you are having trouble getting any leaks to stop, possibly the washers are old, worn, or no longer supple. It is a good idea to be sure that there is a screen-type hose washer on the inlet side of both your water filter and your water regulator at least that is what I do. If any large particles of stuff somehow happen to get into the water source, these screens keep the larger stuff from entering your water filter or water regulator, and eventually plugging them up.
None of us enjoy the “surprise” of taking a big gulp of water and feeling something besides cool water going down our throat!

I did a google search of campgrounds in West Yellowstone which is just outside the west entrance. The only gateway towns that would work would be West Yellowstone and Gardiner north. Cooke City northeast does not have any campgrounds with services.
All of these campgrounds are right in the town of West Yellowstone or on the edge. One summer 7 yrs ago my parents took me, my daughter and grandson to Jackson with their 5th wheel. When putting solids into the toilet, flush and then fill the toilet bowl twice 2 times to the top with water and flush. The force of these 2 flushes will push all the solids out of the black water tank into the parks sewer line, stopping any vapors going up the tank vent.
As mentioned above, the toilet must be filled completely twice with water and flushed. Along with the weight and volume of water this action will push the solids and fumes out and down through the RV Parks sewer system. Depending on the make and model of your RV toilet, it may hold from 3 to 6 gallons of water when filled.
This volume and weight along with the force of gravity is what cleans out your black water tank.

Shore power is also called volt or AC power alternating current , utilizes a three prong 15 or 30 amp power cord.
This cord from your truck camper is plugged into a 15 or 30 amp power outlet. Shore power will operate all systems in your truck camper. This includes your microwave, lights, fans, furnace, water pump, jacks, air conditioner, television, radio, slides, and appliances. If you want to use your air conditioner and microwave at the same time, you need to be plugged into a 30 amp outlet. If you plug into a 15 amp outlet, which is a standard household three prong outlet, you will not be able to run your air conditioner and microwave without potentially blowing a fuse or damaging the electrical system.
Battery power is also called 12 volt or DC power direct current. Battery power will operate all of the 12 volt appliances and systems in your camper including lights, water pump, and 12 volt televisions and entertainment systems. Some camper systems use 12 volt power and propane such as your furnace blower uses 12 volt power , hot water heater ignites with 12 volt power , and two-way refrigerators.
